Local groups

Surfrider’s local action is structured around 47 local groups spread across 12 European countries. Led by volunteers who love the ocean and are keen to protect our blue lung, these groups aim to promote Surfrider’s work at a local level.

What is Surfrider's local action?

Local groups are groups of volunteers spread across Europe who organise numerous events, actions and environmental campaigns on behalf of Surfrider through the Coastal Defenders programme.

These groups are Surfrider’s local representatives and aim to promote its actions, in particular through:

Awareness-raising in schools,
Implementation of environmental campaigns,
Organisation of events,
Development of partnerships,
Strengthening of the membership network,
Etc.
