The relationship of trust built up over the years has enabled us to jointly develop exciting projects such as the Ocean’s Zero app, which raises users’ awareness of eco-friendly behaviour and waste reduction through fun challenges. This project emerged following a hackathon organised by the Foundation in 2018.
Early on, the Foundation also challenged Surfrider by encouraging the association to initiate an impact measurement process at the association level, and by creating corporate awareness days with Act! with Surfrider. Since 2022, more than 2,600 Bouygues Telecom Group employees have joined forces with Surfrider.
With most of its employees based in Brittany, the Fortuneo teams are more than enthusiastic about protecting the ocean and have chosen to support Surfrider.
Fortuneo first got involved in the Ocean Initiatives project, which involves collecting waste from beaches and along waterways to better understand and solve the problem of aquatic waste.
Today, the company is keen to step up its commitments and climate policy. They support Surfrider through two ambitious programmes:
– Blue Carbon: Mangroves, salt marshes, seagrass beds… Blue carbon ecosystems capture and sequester several billion tonnes of CO2 on coasts, under the seas and oceans. Preserving them is part of nature-based solutions to combat climate change and adapt to its consequences.
– Coastal risks: Erosion and submersion not only disrupt marine biodiversity, but also coastal populations, who must reinvent their way of life in the face of an increasingly unstable environment. Our commitment is to anticipate the adaptation of coastlines to climate change in order to restore an essential balance within coastal areas.
Since 2018, MACIF, a mutual insurer and pioneer in ocean conservation, has been supporting Surfrider Foundation Europe.
This strategic partner of the NGO is committed to ocean conservation, with a twofold objective: to raise public awareness of the challenges of global warming and to encourage concrete action on the ground.
MACIF is committed to working alongside Surfrider Foundation, particularly through the Echappée Bleue programme. This project aims to raise awareness of ocean conservation among children from social centres through sailing. It is an immersive experience designed to spark their passion for the sea and help them understand the environmental issues at stake.
Ouest Croissance is a private equity firm and strategic partner of Surfrider since 2025.
With an area of operation bordered by oceans, this partnership with Surfrider is a natural extension of Ouest Croissance’s commitment to environmental preservation, and will last for three years.
Through its new ESG-focused investment fund, Ouest Croissance II, the company supports Initiatives Océanes, a project that collects waste from beaches and along waterways in order to understand and solve the problem of aquatic waste.
